DETAILED TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions apply to all work undertaken by IST CARPENTRY LTD. (“Contractor”) and set out the rights and responsibilities of the Contractor and the Client. By requesting a quotation, confirming an order, or proceeding with any project or work, the Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full.
1. Scope of Work
All work undertaken will be described in detail in the provided written quotation or service agreement. The Contractor is only obligated to carry out the specific services listed therein.
Any additions or changes to the scope of work must be agreed in writing and may be subject to additional costs and revised timelines.
Should any previously concealed issues (e.g. structural defects, rot, faulty wiring, pipe damage) be discovered during work, the Contractor reserves the right to halt progress and re-quote. Work will only resume upon written approval from the Client for the new terms.
2. Quotations & Validity
Clients are entitled to one free detailed quotation per job.
Subsequent or repeated quotations—including telephone re-quotes, site revisions, or plan changes—will be charged at £100.
All quotations are valid for 14 working days from the issue date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Site Visit Fees
In-person site assessments requested prior to quotation approval are subject to a £100 fee. This fee is deductible from the final invoice if the Client proceeds with the quoted work.
4. Deposits & Advance Payment
Before any work or material ordering begins, the Client must pay:
• 30% of the total labour cost, and
• 100% of the total materials cost.
The deposit secures labour availability and covers any upfront material sourcing. It is non-refundable, except as noted in the cancellation terms.
No services will commence until this deposit is received and confirmed.
5. Working Hours & Premium Time
Our standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Work performed outside these hours is considered premium time and will be charged at:
• +50% rate for weekday evenings (after 4:00 PM) and Saturdays.
• +100% rate for Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Requests for out-of-hours work must be made and agreed upon in writing before scheduling.
6. Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Client may cancel scheduled work, but cancellation fees apply based on notice given:
• Less than 24 hours: 100% of quoted cost.
• 1 working day: 75%.
• 2 working days: 50%.
• 3 or more working days: no charge.
The cost of any custom or pre-ordered materials is fully chargeable if such items cannot be returned or reused.
7. Access, Parking, and Site Conditions
The Client is responsible for providing clear, unimpeded access to the property during agreed working hours.
Parking for one vehicle must be provided or nearby pay parking covered by the Client.
If work is delayed due to restricted access or unsafe conditions, extra charges may apply at the standard hourly rate.
All working areas must be cleared by the Client prior to start. The Contractor will not be liable for delays or damages caused by client-stored items or obstructions.
8. Late Payments
Invoices are due within 7 calendar days of issue unless stated otherwise.
If payment is not received by day 8, the following will apply:
• £75 fixed administrative late fee.
• 3% interest added per week (compound) on the total unpaid amount.
Work will be suspended immediately on overdue accounts until payment is received.
If no payment is received within 30 days, we reserve the right to initiate formal debt recovery, and all associated legal/collection fees will be charged to the Client.
9. Insurance, Liability & Warranty
The Contractor holds full Public Liability Insurance valid within the UK.
All labour is covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee starting from completion.
This warranty excludes damage caused by misuse, external interference, or acts of nature (e.g., storm damage, subsidence).
The Contractor is not liable for indirect loss, consequential damages, or delays caused by third-party suppliers or unforeseeable conditions.
10. Documentation & Photographic Records
The Contractor reserves the right to take photographic evidence of work progress for quality control, legal protection, and portfolio documentation.
Images will not be published or shared externally without the Client’s written consent.
11. Right to Withdraw
The Contractor may withdraw from a project with immediate effect if:
• There is evidence of harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour toward any personnel.
• Working conditions are found to be unsafe or violate UK safety standards.
• There are unreasonable demands, scope changes, or delays not agreed to in writing.
12. Legal Governance
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Disputes will first be addressed through direct negotiation, and if unresolved, may be escalated to formal mediation or legal action.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By requesting a quotation, confirming a job, paying a deposit, or engaging in any services with the Contractor, the Client agrees to these Terms & Conditions in full.
A copy of these Terms is always available upon request and must be reviewed prior to signing any formal job agreement.
